Senior Consultant, ETEC
Dr. Al-Zughaibi currently works as a senior consultant at ETEC. He previously held the positions of CEO of Tatweer Co. for Educational Services and the King Abudullah Project for educational development, as well as Deputy Minister of Education for Curricula and Programs. Dr. Al-Zughaibi began his professional career as a junior high school and high school teacher. Then he became a principal and an educational supervisor. Afterwards he became the director of curriculum planning at the Ministry of education. He also supervised the development of math and science curricula which was part of the project for developing math and natural sciences. Dr. Al-Zughaibi directed the first national initiative to develop the teaching of STEM. He co-authored several educational materials for different educational levels as well as contributing to a project responsible for preparing educational materials for the gifted and talented at the University of Leeds’ School of Education. He authored several educational books and published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He also gave a number of local and international workshops on professional development, and teaching and learning. Dr. Al-Zughaibi is currently a member on several boards and advisory committees.
